Wait I don't get it. Why does the prince mistake the princess for his rescuer, instead of correctly understanding that it's the little mermaid?

I didn't really get it without reading part 6 either. Mostly I got it by thinking of the OG; the only connections in the text itself are a white building with bells, and acts of mercy.

This implies that the prince was found and nursed where she is (unless she, like, got moved around different nunneries?) and then went home to his castle across the sea, but he "had not boarded a ship since the shipwreck". How did he get home?

Also, he must have said "hey I'm the prince of Whateverland, can u get me home plz". How come she didn't say "BTW I'm the princess of Someotherland, if you enjoyed my nursing services please rate 5 stars on Diplomatic Matchmaking Yelp"? ig she didn't know she was intended to marry him and she was too self-effacing to tell him even her name…

Listened to these just now on the beautiful drive back from Santa Cruz. What a pure expression of self. Personal fiction written for a personal audience. There's a voltage difference in media, where authors put so much more in than an individual consumer. Even if only briefly, it was a joy to share in this production.
